Advancing microbiology with
bioinformatics and machine learning-based computational models

Objective

The microbiology group, headed by Prof. Zou, aims to improve our understanding of microbiology with bioinformatics and machine learning-based computational models.

The major scientific topics include:

  1. Microbiome in human health and diseases (oral, gut)
  2. Microbial ecology of natrual habitats (hot springs)
  3. Identify biomolecules of microorganisms (non-coding DNA, miRNAs, secreted proteins, etc.)
